Study Guide for School Applications

In education settings the ideal is to engage students, offer them new information, encourage exploration, and support the student driven desire to learn. The facilitator works much like a teacher in educational circles. GWP educational programs can be tailored to each setting and will heavily pull from years of classroom teaching experience, extensive cultural research, and time living in the regions where the drums originate.

Education drum circles have the power to engage everyone while teaching valuable lessons about life, learning, and being in a community. Students gain confidence, practice listening, develop communication skills, follow instructions, and indulge in creative expression.

Each drummer will explore their instrument and musical ability at their own pace. The facilitator is always nearby, listening and guiding the group to its fullest potential.

School festivals or PTA meetings make wonderful opportunities to come together in a musical circle. Students love to impress their parents and parents love to show interest in their child’s learning experience. A facilitated drum circle provides the space for all members of the family to be involved, supportive, and full of joy.

Common Programs:

• Standard Educational Drum Circle: 30-45 minute drum circle with drums and small percussion provided for up to 40 participants.
• Half-Day Educational: Continuous drum circles for half the school day (up to lunch or from lunch to school end).
• Full-Day Educational: Continuous drum circles for the full school day (from first bell to last).
• Leadership Program: Half day programs focused on building leadership and interrelation skills.
• Recurring Sessions: Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Bi-Monthly, and Monthly sessions built to fit your needs. Please call or email for this option.
