Workshops

Giving World Percussion organizes a number of workshops throughout the year in addition to the numerous drum circles. We have been blessed with guest workshop leaders from around the world. Participants can rest assured that each teacher, master percussionist, facilitator, dancer, etc. Every leader shares the principles of community, experiential-supported learning, and a love of the power of music.

A few traditional instructors, here are a few of our friends in the area: Thobos Lubamba (Congo), Jose Miguel Rosa (Puerto Rico), Taiwo Duval (Legendary World Percussionist).

Children’s Percussion Discovery Workshop

Current Schedule Dates: March 11 & April 8, 2010
$12 per child/ Each additional child $10

Taiwo Duvall: Legendary Percussionist currently based out of Ocala, FL. Taiwo world debut was on the first African Drumming album ever offered to the Western World, Drums of Passion, 1958. With over 50 years drumming experience Taiwo represents the roots of American drumming. Workshops: Lost art of the Ashiko, Q&A Sessions: History of Drumming in America, and too many to list here.

Sean Anthony: National performer, latin percussionists, and studio musician based in the DC Area. Workshops: Working with Tumbao (Conga)
